Word of the week: Ikhrang cha cha - Once again slowly.

In my life: It‘s been a quiet week at work and home. Thai lessons continue via Spotify but the one I found feels a bit repetitive with most of them focusing on the introduction/family relations/common words. I think I might need to find and download advanced lessons on YouTube instead.

Surprisingly I haven’t given up on the C25k runs yet and I’m actually beginning to enjoy these. I’m still running at a slow pace and repeating runs when I feel I haven’t done my best, as my focus at the moment is on improving how long I can run. Next week’s runs look scary though as they are 3min run/2 min walk and I was struggling a bit with this week’s 2min runs.

Waking up in the morning to get these runs in is a pain considering I’m not a morning person and I wonder how much harder it will feel once we get into fall/winter.

On Thursday, we went on one of our longer walks to Kirribilli lookout. The views from this place are pretty amazing but we don’t always get a chance to come this far as it is a bit of an uphill climb coming back and sometimes, we just don’t have the energy for it after a PT session.

This time we came across a group of runners waiting to do a 6km loop of the Harbour Bridge & Sydney Opera House. I've decided it’s going to be this years running goal - get good enough to be able to join them on a run this time next year.

We stopped on the way back at BBQ shop and had a roast chicken, gravy and salad dinner. I’m not sure what they put in the stuffing, but it was pretty dang good.

I finally managed to fix my landing page for the website. It was initially pointed to my Adobe portfolio photos page but when I created this blog, I wanted the blog home page to be the main navigating zone for both the links. Sathya kept reminding me to finish it and I finally managed it this week but not before running into some drama.

Luna Park

This weekend is a long weekend, and we initially thought of heading out of the city for a bit. But Sathya has had quite a bit of travel and getting out of the city on a long weekend is such a pain that we decided to stay in and do something in the city instead.

On Saturday we grabbed some coffee and a ham & cheese toastie from a coffee shop Sathya’s told me a lot about. Then came home, caught up on chores and did some furniture rearranging as I wanted my desk closer to the window. We went to Luna Park in the evening and met up one of Sathya’s friends and his wife as they were in the area and spent some time talking to them before grabbing some Mexican food.

Today was spent catching up on a bunch of shows and just vegging on the couch. Perfect Sunday in after the long day yesterday.

On my screens:

  1. The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call (KDrama, Netflix, Completed) - Just randomly started watching this today and could not stop binging the entire show in one go. The humor is on point (that's speaking as someone who isn't the biggest comedy fan) and the medical drama bits are a decent watch for a Greys Anatomy/House fan. Dr. Baek Kang-Hyuk is a bit of an arsehole and faces a lot of challenges but his dedication to saving his patients is admirable. Netflix doesn't really do great with its original Kdramas so this one was a pleasant surprise.
  2. XO, Kitty (Netflix, Completed) - Not as good as Season 1 but finished it. After watching some really good Kdramas since I watched Season 1, it doesn't really feel like anything groundbreaking. Will we have a season 3 to get a HEA? Let's see.
  3. ThamePo (Thai, Queer, YouTube, Ongoing) - A little slower episode this week but still good. The romance is romancing but I keep wondering about what Jun's motivation is. I just adore the little chaos gremlin. Nut is going to be one popular actor once the show is over.

On my bookshelf:

  1. Alliance Rising by CJ Cherryh & Jane S. Fancher: Got really confusing for a bit as the book assumes that the reader is already familiar with the world and technology involved. So, I decided to put this on hold while I read the OG series.
  2. Downbelow Station by CJ Cherryh: Bought an e-book version of this to get familiar with the Alliance-Union universe world first. How did everything get started? How does space travel work in the universe? What's the history of the world whose story is being told in the Alliance Rising book? Thoughts next week.

On my playlist:

I was introduced to DPR Ian's music by a fellow Kmusic lover. Something about his song lyrics reminds me of listening to Linkin Park way back when - knowing that I was not alone in how I felt when I'm sad. (Not sad right now folks, don't worry)

But I feel like I'm disappearing in a hole
And nobody will know (Know)
Nobody will go (Except when I'm with you)
Sitting in my room alone
And nobody will know (Know)
Nobody will go (Except when I'm with you)

On my camera:

I love the pretty summer morning light in the park, but the camera never seems to capture how beautiful it truly is. Small attempt here at editing it to match my memory.

Thanks for tagging along!
